What is a high temperature card edge connector?
High temperature card edge connectors have all the same features of the standard card edge connectors, the difference being the use of a high temp insulator material. The high temp material is used to support the RoHS infrared reflow soldering temperature requirements of 230°C for 60 seconds or 260°C for 10 seconds. The standard operating temperature range for these connectors is from -40°C to +125°C but with the use of special copper contact material, the high temperature edge connector range can be increased to meet up to 150°C.

High temperature card edge connectors are available in two insulator materials, Diallyl Phthalate (green) or Polyphenylene Sulfide (Black).
