EDAC offers an extensive range of industry standard D-Subminiature connectors. Our D-Sub+ family are available in standard density with 9, 15, 25, 37, and 50 contacts or high density versions with 15, 26, 44, 62 and 78 contacts. Vertical and right angle orientations, along with a variety of termination, plating and mounting options are available. They’re also available in a stacked configuration.

D-SUB CONNECTORS | EDAC

D-Subminiature connectors, also known as a d-sub, have been given this name because it is d-shaped; providing automatic polarization. D sub connectors are not exclusively used for display, but are also used for serial-port, parallel-port, SCSI, etc.

When used as a monitor interface, a d-sub port is also referred to as a VGA port, an analog connection standard that has been around for some time. VGA connector is currently the most widely used monitor interface, compatible with very large numbers of PC’s (computer) and LCD monitors.

WHAT IS A D-SUB CONNECTOR?

D-SUB CONNECTOR SIZES AND VARIATIONS

EDAC has a wide range of dsub connectors in multiple sizes. The sizes include 9 (DB9 or DE9), DB15, DB25, 26, 37, 44, 50, 62, and 78 positions within our standard, machined, combo, and waterproof offerings.

EDAC’s stamped contacts provide 3 amps while our machined pins provide up to 5 amps. Our power combo versions with power pins provide up to 40 amps in combination with the data pins.

Waterproof d-sub connectors are also available with epoxy sealed contacts at the rear, and an o-ring seal to the panel. EDAC’s molding process to seal the db connector fills every void with epoxy to provide no air bubbles and no wicking of epoxy up the contacts.

D-SUB CONNECTOR APPLICATIONS
