The most common connectors used in
communication applications are Modular Jacks, USB, Headers and HDMI. Modular
Jacks are used extensively in server farms and enterprise storage networks for
high-speed data transfers. USB’s are used in datacom equipment primarily as a
power source. Headers are used for board to board or wire to board solutions in
datacom panels providing an economical way to interconnect peripherals in the
systems. HDMI is the primary interconnect for video signals in datacom feeds.
