The EDAC E-Met family is a two piece, metal to metal, high reliability connector solution. Utilizing our Edacon hermaphroditic contacts, the fork-like design incorporates four mating surfaces providing a gas tight connection with high shock and vibration resistance. For board to board, or wire to board applications, they can be used with 0.062” or 0.093” printed circuit boards.

What is a Metal-to-metal edge connector?
Metal-to-metal card edge connectors are a high reliability interconnect solution for applications where high shock and vibration resistance is required. Plug and receptacle connectors mate together to provide a board-to-board or wire-to-board connection. The hermaphroditic contact mating design incorporates four mating surfaces and ensures a gas tight connection.
Engineering options
The plug and receptacle are designed to accept PC card thicknesses of 1.57mm or 2.36mm. The receptacle is available with an open or closed card slot and card guides are an option to help facilitate the mating plug connector and PCB. Receptacles are available with various termination options (PC tail, wire hole, crimp, wire wrap) for board- to-board or wire-to-board connection.
