CONSUMERS
The most common connectors used in consumer electronic
applications are USB, Modular Jacks, Waterproof and HDMI. You are hard pressed
to find a consumer product without a USB in it. A standard for charging phones,
tablets, computers, cameras, etc., USB revolutionized the industry by combining
data and power in one connector! Modular Jacks are primarily used for data
connections for computers as an alternative to Wi-Fi. Products such as cell phones
and tablets are now available in waterproof versions and some outdoor products
use waterproof USB connectors to power them. HDMI is now the standard for cameras,
video recorders, projectors or anything requiring video transfer. It’s all
about speed and HDMI replaced what previously was display port connectors.
